15/09/18 The Kosmos Ensemble

The first concert of the new season will take place on Saturday 15 September 2018 at 7pm in St Andrew’s Church Curry Rivel when we will welcome The Kosmos Ensemble.

This ensemble of very talented young artists comprises Harriet MacKenzie, Violin, Meg Hamilton, Viola and Milos Milivojevic, Accordion.  They are an internationally acclaimed group which have twice won the Selected Artists accolade from Making Music.  They are all soloists in their own right.

Kosmos Ensemble

Harriet MacKenzie is an international concerto soloist who has performed across five continents.  Recordings include concertos with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Nova and the English Symphony Orchestra.  She has performed as a soloist at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall, Budapest Marble Hall, and the Purcell Room amongst others.  She has performed for Curry Rivel Music in the past as part of the Retorica Violin Duo which was very well received.

Meg Hamilton gained an Honours degree in Music at Edinburgh University in 2003 and a performance diploma at Trinity College of Music. Her music covers intensive study of music from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Turkey, Greece, the Middle East and beyond and her performances have received five star reviews from the Evening Standard.

Milos Milivojevic is a Serbian born accordionist and was the first prize winner of the International Accordion Competitions in Italy, Denmark, France and Germany.  He has won many prizes in this country too and is a member of five different ensembles playing around the world.
